Yesterday we had an 8.9 earthquake here in Japan at 2:45pm. We live in Nagoya so although we definitely were shaken by the quake we did not get any of the effects of the tsunami. We were in our local aquarium when the quake hit and it was one of the craziest feelings I have ever felt. We just stood there at first totally confused as to what was going on. When we realized what was happening we couldn't believe it. We left the tank where we were standing and headed outside. We were right by the port of Nagoya so we are very thankful we did not experience the tsunami in Nagoya. This is where my mom, sister, noah and I were when the earthquake hit:
Around 4am we experienced another earthquake (6.6) but most of us slept through that one and again we were fine.
Please be in prayer for the people in Northern Japan, they had the worst of the damage for sure. Watching the videos of the tsunami hitting land and sweeping away cars, semi trucks, trains and houses was so hard to watch. They will need so much prayer in the next few days, weeks and months.
Thank you for all the prayers and concerns that were sent to us for the States. We really appreciate feeling loved on from back home during this time. Keep checking back on our blog. I will continue to post updates as needed. God bless you all and please keep Japan in your prayers!
